Every great cup of coffee starts long before it ever reaches a Red Owl café — it starts at origin. This season, we’re excited to share a closer look at the Ethiopian beans making their way into our roasting facility in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Why Ethiopia
Ethiopia is widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee, and its high-altitude growing regions produce some of the most distinct, vibrant flavor profiles in the world. Beans grown here are known for bright acidity, floral aromatics, and notes of berry and citrus — a flavor profile that brings something special to several of our signature drinks.
From Farm to Roaster
Once the beans arrive at our facility, our roasting team gets to work dialing in the perfect roast curve. Ethiopian beans require a careful hand — too light and you lose body, too dark and you lose the delicate floral notes that make this origin so special. Our roasters hand-tune each batch to bring out the best of what this harvest has to offer.

Tasting Notes
Expect bright, fruit-forward flavor with floral aromatics and a clean, tea-like finish — a noticeably different profile from our house blends, and a great pick for anyone who wants to taste coffee at its most expressive.
Try It Yourself
This harvest is available in select drinks at participating locations while supplies last. Ask your barista what’s brewing, or stop by to taste the difference origin makes.
